Eating to be Healthy vs Eating to be Skinny - Orlando Thomas

Eating to be Healthy vs Eating to be Skinny - Orlando Thomas

Everyone has that friend or knows someone that eats like a mouse. Everytime you see them they either have a small bag of chips and a drink or an order of fries and a drink. Also, they always seem to be snacking on candy.

Even though they eat junk, they only eat a little bit and they throw the majority of it away. If you ask them to recall what they have been eating in the last few days they would name everything but they may leave out a few details about the amounts.

They are basically keeping the calories down by snacking on junk in limited quantities. While being able to enjoy whatever they want, they are not getting very good nutrition. This is a very common practice among slim people.

They would rather eat junk foods in limited quantities over eating clean and healthy food in ample amounts. This is really all about sugar. This habit starts in the pre-teen years and continues on until later in life.  This is the same thing that happens when people go on calorie restricted diets that allow them to continue to eat some of their favorite foods but in limited quantities.

Trying to break these habits after decades of practicing them can be very difficult. Eating to be healthy is almost the opposite of what a lot of individuals practice to be slim. When eating to be healthy nutrient levels become the focus of the diet instead of calories. When an individual starts to eat a clean unprocessed diet, the calorie count goes down while the nutrient levels go up.

Now  the body starts to become healthier because the healthy nutrients are now being consumed,  not junk. This is when the body starts to slowly loose weight and feel  better. This is also when the hair and skin starts to look much healthier. Blood chemistry also improves leading to decreased dependencies on medications. The difference between the two practices may be hard to visualize initially but in the long run one of those individuals will become a lot healthier while the other individual does not.

Eating healthy will allow the body time to adjust to weight changes and give the skin the nutrients needed  to make the adjustments. Be sensible and feed the body what it needs.
